Yacht Chef Electrocuted while Hiking

Yacht Chef Eduardo Garcia was electrocuted while hiking in Montana on October 9th by an unmarked electric company power source. Eduardo has lost his left hand and went through numerous surgeries including the removal of three rib sections.  He has four more surgeries scheduled in the near future. According to a Facebook page set up for updates, Eduardo left the hospital in November and is recovering in the company of friends. According to the Facebook page Eduardo was hiking near Yellowstone National Park when he found a bear carcass, and was electrocuted when he poked it. He then walked more than two miles to find help. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and was then airlifted to the University of Utah Hospital…

Bristol Marine Acquires Somerset Marina

Bristol Marine of Rhode Island has bought J&J Marine of Somerset, Massachusetts. Andrew Tyska, founder and president of Bristol Marine at 99 Poppasquash Road, recently purchased the full-service marina and boatyard at 1 Main Street in Somerset, along the Taunton River. Tyska said, “This expansion allows us to better serve our existing customers, as well as new customers, through the diverse facilities we now have at our disposal in Bristol and Somerset." Before the Somerset facility recently fell into receivership, its focus was on larger vessels, a market segment Bristol Marine could not serve at its location in Bristol Harbor.
