Cesme Marina, Turkey – NEW OPENED JUNE 2010

Camper & Nicholsons’ Cesme Marina, located in a still undiscovered and chic part of Turkey’s stunning coastline at the Western end of the Izmir Peninsula.

400 fully serviced berths for yachts up to 60m (200ft) plus a shoreside development of shops, bars and restaurants alongside the historical town of Cesme.

Set in a natural harbour with a minimum depth of 3m and accessible 24 hours a day, the marina is sheltered by land and a breakwater to the north west.

An ancient strategic Mediterranean port, Cesme is a charming place to visit, a great base for wintering your boat and a perfect home port from which to explore the Islands of the Aegean.

Cesme Marina’s shoreside facilities include technical services from paint and fibreglass work, machine-shop and welding, carpentry, marine engineering, and repairs to servicing for electrical and electronic equipment.

• 80-ton travel lift
• boatyard and hard standing for up to 100 yachts

The Approach

The approach from north or south is straightforward. Cesme’s castle is easy to identify and lies immediately north east of the marina.

The channel between Chios and the mainland is free of unmarked dangers. The rocks, marked by a beacon a mile west of the entrance, should be kept a quarter of a mile to starboard – or leave to port, passing mid-way between the rocks and the headland.

Pass between the breakwater to starboard and the pier to port.

On approach, contact the Marina Office on Channel 72 to arrange your berth.

Formalities

Cesme Marina will soon be a port of entry, so an ideal place for a yacht to clear in and out between Turkey and the Greek Islands. The customs and immigrations offices are only a short walk away, and our staff in the Capitainerie will be pleased to advise on opening times and other formalities.
